Metricito OS Metricito OS

Measured. Not monitored.

The desktop for leaving Windows. Your files, Office documents and games come with you.

Metricito OS is a fast, private Linux desktop. Your Office files open in an office suite laid out like Microsoft 365, Mail and Calendar are set up for Microsoft 365, and your games run with Steam and Proton.

Frame time, ms. Guides at 16.7 ms (60 fps) and 6.9 ms (144 fps). An illustration of the steady trace our logo is drawn from, not a benchmark.

Productivity, compatibility, gaming

Everything you used on Windows has a place here.

Each part of Metricito OS serves at least one of three goals: getting work done, keeping your files and devices working, and playing your games.

Productivity

  • Metricito Office, based on LibreOffice, with ribbons laid out like Excel and Word.
  • Excel Tables, dynamic arrays and pivot tables that survive a round trip to Excel, with a report of anything that does not.
  • Mail and Calendar set up for Microsoft 365 accounts.
  • COSMIC Terminal on the dock and Super+T, with Wave Terminal also installed.
  • Snap Layouts: right-click a title bar and put the window in a half, a third or a quarter of the screen.Next build
  • A desktop that learns whether you work with tiled or floating windows, on your PC only.
  • Teams and Zoom meetings in the browser, no extra app needed.

Looks after itself

Repairs you would otherwise search forums for.

Self-healing

An update cut off by a power cut is finished, broken packages are fixed, and a network, Bluetooth or printing service that stops is restarted, without asking.

Repair This PC

One app runs every repair at once and also rebuilds app menus, icons, fonts and Flatpak apps.

Snapshots before updates

The system is saved before packages change, so a bad update can be rolled back.

Plugins

Add developer tools, creative apps or streaming with one command. Adding a plugin never runs its code until you turn it on.

No telemetry

Nothing reports home. Apps that collect usage data by default ship with it turned off. How we handle security

Learns how you work

Put windows side by side and new workspaces tile them; overlap or maximise them and windows float. Apps you keep floating open floating. It tells you when it changes something, with Undo, and nothing it learns leaves the PC.

Antivirus, ready when you want it

ClamAV scans downloads and attachments as they arrive and sends threats to quarantine. It is off by default to keep memory free, and one command switches it on. Signatures come from our own servers in the EU. Protected by SixtoNet

Icons your way

MoreWaita by default, with Conflux, WhiteSur, Colloid and Papirus one click away in Settings.

Frosted glass, your choice

Windows, panel and dock share one frosted look. One switch makes them solid.

Window buttons of its own

Minimise, maximise and close sit in a small tab cut into each window's corner, the same in COSMIC's apps, Office, Firefox and Thunderbird. Coming in the next build.

Light on memory

Background services start only when they are needed, and when memory fills up the PC stays responsive instead of grinding. Coming in the next build.
